Teeth Whitening
Professional-grade whitening for a brighter, more confident smile
Stained or discolored teeth can make you feel self-conscious, even if the rest of your smile is perfectly healthy. Coffee, tea, red wine, and simply getting older can dull your teeth over time. Over-the-counter strips and toothpastes promise results, but they rarely deliver the dramatic, even improvement that professional whitening provides.
At Parker Dental Studio, we offer both in-office and take-home professional whitening treatments that are safe, effective, and tailored to your sensitivity level. Results vary, but many patients see noticeable improvement in a single visit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is professional teeth whitening safe?
Yes. Professional teeth whitening performed under dental supervision is safe and well-studied. The whitening agents used in our office are formulated to minimize sensitivity while delivering effective results. Unlike over-the-counter products, professional treatments are customized to your teeth and monitored by Dr. Trivedi and our team to protect your enamel and gum tissue.
How white will my teeth get?
Results vary depending on the type and severity of staining. Many patients see noticeable improvement in a single session, though the degree of whitening differs for each individual. Teeth with yellowish tones tend to respond best to whitening. Grayish discoloration (often caused by medication or trauma) may require additional sessions. During your consultation, we will assess your specific staining and give you a realistic expectation of results.
Will teeth whitening cause sensitivity?
Some patients experience mild, temporary sensitivity during or after whitening. This usually subsides within a day or two. We take steps to minimize sensitivity, including using desensitizing agents before and after treatment. If you already have sensitive teeth, we can adjust the treatment concentration and duration to keep you comfortable.
How long do whitening results last?
Professional whitening results typically last one to three years, depending on your habits. Consuming staining foods and drinks (coffee, tea, red wine, berries) and tobacco use can shorten the lifespan of your results. Using a take-home maintenance kit and scheduling periodic touch-up treatments can help keep your smile bright longer.
What is the difference between in-office and take-home whitening?
In-office whitening uses a higher concentration of whitening agent and delivers dramatic results in a single one-hour visit. Take-home whitening uses custom-fitted trays with a gentler formula that you wear for a set period each day over one to two weeks. Many patients choose a combination: in-office treatment for immediate results, plus take-home trays for maintenance.
Can I whiten my teeth if I have crowns or veneers?
Whitening treatments only work on natural tooth enamel. Crowns, veneers, and fillings will not change color with whitening agents. If you have visible restorations, we will plan your whitening treatment so that your natural teeth match your existing restorations as closely as possible.
How much does professional teeth whitening cost?
In-office professional whitening typically costs between $300 and $600. Custom take-home whitening trays range from $200 to $400. While whitening is generally not covered by dental insurance because it is considered cosmetic, we offer flexible payment options.
Is whitening toothpaste as effective as professional whitening?
Whitening toothpastes can remove some surface stains, but they cannot change the intrinsic color of your teeth. Professional whitening uses peroxide-based agents that penetrate the enamel to break down deeper stains. The difference in results is significant: professional treatment can achieve significantly more noticeable improvement than over-the-counter products.
Who should not get teeth whitening?
Whitening is not recommended for children under 16, pregnant or nursing women, or patients with active gum disease or untreated cavities. If you have extremely sensitive teeth, we may suggest alternative approaches. A consultation with Dr. Trivedi will determine whether whitening is right for you.
What can I eat and drink after whitening?
For 48 hours after whitening, avoid dark-colored foods and beverages (coffee, red wine, berries, soy sauce, tomato sauce) as well as acidic foods. Stick to lighter foods and drinks—water, chicken, rice, white fish, and bananas are all good choices. After this initial period, you can resume your normal diet.
